GMT- Watch . Mil-Spec Med-Float black case
Watchdog Time Co.
The MIL-SPEC Med-Float GMT by Watchdog Time Co. was created as a tribute to the Marines, sailors, ships and aircraft of the Mediterranean deployments of the early 1980s, with special significance given to Beirut, Lebanon, 1983. “Med-Float” was the familiar term used by Marines for a Mediterranean deployment aboard Navy amphibious ships. For the men who served there in 1983, however, it became much more than another deployment. Beirut became part of Marine Corps history and, for those who were there, part of their own history. That story is represented through a purpose-built GMT configuration. The additional red GMT hand provides a second time reference—a functional connection to a Marine deployed thousands of miles from home, keeping track of both local time and the time back home. The black military-style dial carries the MIL-SPEC / c.1983 designation beneath enlisted chevrons, while the bold red MED-FLOAT GMT gives the watch its identity. White military-style markers and hands maintain excellent contrast, with red accents providing just enough color without overwhelming the instrument-like design. Surrounding the dial is a 24-hour red-and-black GMT bezel, reinforcing the watch’s deployment/travel purpose. The subdued military-green strap completes the field-equipment appearance. This isn’t intended to reproduce a historical government-issued watch. It is an original Watchdog Time Co. design built around the experience of a 1983 Mediterranean deployment and the Marines
