Afghan Turkmen 167x94 Tribal Vintage Rug Kunduz Carpet

Afghanistan Origin (Kunduz/Esari Tribe)
Wool (20-30 years old)
157-167cm x 87-94cm (excluding fringe, with distortion) Thickness: 5mm

This rug, inheriting the traditions of the Turkmen people, captivates with its deep, profound red. Unlike the commonly seen reddish-orange, this is a deep, quiet crimson, as if a true scarlet has been further concentrated. When placed alongside other red Afghan rugs, the difference in color depth is striking.

The neatly arranged Gul (emblem) design is traditional, resulting in a piece that brings a sense of calm and dignity to any space.

[Expert's Insight]
This is a piece with significant distortion. This is a testament to the weaver's dedication, as it was meticulously hand-woven, one knot at a time, in her daily life beside her tent. We hope this rug will be cherished by those who appreciate its wildness and handmade charm, qualities not found in mass-produced items.

There are some frays on the selvage and minor repair marks with white thread, but the structural integrity is not compromised, and it maintains a clean appearance. For a Turkmen rug of this size and quality, the price would typically be much higher. However, considering the distortion, we are offering it at a special discounted price.

[Styling Suggestions]
Perfect in front of a sofa in the living room or as a centerpiece in a hallway. If the distortion is a concern, we recommend an unconventional placement, such as diagonally, or by placing furniture partially on it to create a sense of openness, a designer's perspective.

[Please Note]
While professionally cleaned at the source, a characteristic wool scent may remain. This will naturally dissipate once fully dried. As with all natural materials, wool dislikes humidity, so please ensure it is used in a well-ventilated environment.

We have other rugs available, so please take a look.
