Antique Victorian Oval Crayon Portrait Man Tiger Wood Frame 1800s Folk Art
N/A
66.00 $
Description
Striking antique Victorian-era oval portrait of a formally dressed gentleman with mustache, displayed in a dark faux tiger-grain wood frame. This appears consistent with the crayon/charcoal enhanced photographic portraits popular during the late 19th to early 20th century. A wonderful piece of authentic period wall decor with a moody Gothic, Victorian and folk-art aesthetic. Antique condition with significant age-related wear. Glass is missing, leaving the portrait surface exposed. Portrait has visible scratches, scuffs, marks, spotting and other surface imperfections. Frame shows scratches, finish wear and damage/chipping, including a noticeable damaged area along the bottom. Original-style backing and hanging wire remain present. Please review all photos carefully for condition and see pictures for measurements. Sold as pictured.
